Beekeeping 101
Tour the Closter Farm apiary and learn about how the amazing honey bee works and lives. An excellent introduction to honey bees for the beekeeping-curious or for those who want to learn how to do more to help these small yet powerful creatures. Class will end with a honey tasting of local honey! Adults and teenagers age 12 & up are welcome.
Honey Bee Class for Kids
A fun and interactive session for kids ages 6-12 on the wonderful world of the honey bee! Kids will learn about the honey bee life cycle, beekeeping, pollination, queen bees, native bees and more. Class ends with a honey tasting of local honey!
Parents must be on premises for the duration of the class.

This class includes a tour of the farm + story time!
This is a 1 hour class for children up to 10 years old. Parents or a guardian are required to be on site during the entirety of the course. Children outside of this age range may attend, but the material will not necessarily be suitable for their stage of learning.

Chicken Class for Kids
Are you interested in learning about a chicken’s life cycle from baby chicks all the way up to adult chickens? This class will be a children’s introduction to the world of small farming with chickens.
In this class, we will focus on learning the different growth stages of our flocks, chicken feed, how to hold a chicken, chicken diets and so much more. This is a great class for children looking to get hands-on experience with small scale livestock.
This is a 1 hour class for children up to 10 years old. Parents or a guardian are required to be on site during the entirety of the course. Children outside of this age range may attend, but the material will not necessarily be suitable for their stage of learning.
Kids Class - Summer on the Farm
This class includes a tour of the farm, story time and tasting tomatoes + herbs!
This is a 1 hour class for children up to 10 years old. Parents or a guardian are required to be on site during the entirety of the course. Children outside of this age range may attend, but the material will not necessarily be suitable for their stage of learning.

Wine Tasting
Join us for an evening on the farm to sip Organic and biodynamic wines and taste some amazing cheeses. We'll walk around the gardens, talk terroir, flavor, and pairings. We will talk about the relationship between soil health and flavor. We expect this event to last about one and one half hours.
Organic Gardening for Kids
In this class we will cover all the steps involved in starting your own backyard garden. We will cover site selection, soil preparation, plant selection, indoor seed starting and crop rotation. And you will leave with all the tips and tricks we know to help you make a successful garden this year and a whole bunch of resources to keep learning!
This is a 1 hour class for children ages 6-11. Parents or a guardian are required to be on site during the entirety of the course. Children outside of this age range may attend, but the material will not necessarily be suitable for their stage of learning.
Toddler + Adult Class
Join us on a farm tour designed for the littlest farmers. We will see what we are growing and visit with our chickens. We will end our class with circle time and a story!
This is a 45 minute class for children ages 2-4. Parents or a guardian are required to be on site during the entirety of the course. Children outside of this age range may attend, but the material will not necessarily be suitable for their stage of learning.
Farm Tour
Walk through our farm, guided by one of our farmers and learn about organic, regenerative farming, our farm practices, what we are harvesting and what’s to come!
This is an hour long tour, kids welcome.
Herb Gardening Class
Event Highlights:
Refreshing Herbal Infused Water: Enjoy a variety of delicious, refreshing herbal waters to keep you hydrated and inspired.
Herb Gardening Workshop: Learn the art of creating your own herb garden. Discover the unique benefits of different herbs and how to cultivate them successfully.
Hands-On Potting Session: Get your hands dirty as you pot your chosen herbs into a custom planter. Select from a variety of herbs and design a beautiful planter to take home with you.

Paint + Sip
Join us for this BYOB event as you are guided by a local artist, Heather, to paint a seasonally themed painting.
All materials provided, best for older kids and adults.
Wagyu Summer Solstice Dinner
We will be celebrating the Summer solstice, highlighting early summer produce and our own Wagyu beef! This is a 5+ set coursed meal, BYOB. Although we love children, this dinner is not intended for those younger folks.

Gardening is an incredibly rewarding experience but it can also be a daunting project when you don't know how to get started. Join this class if you want to learn all the steps involved in starting your own backyard garden, or refine your techniques and take your garden to the next level.
This class is tailored to the interests of the group. We will cover site selection, soil preparation, plant selection, indoor seed starting and crop rotation. And you will leave with all the tips and tricks we know to help you make a successful garden this year and a whole bunch of resources to keep learning!
We welcome ages 12 and above to this class.

FREE - Yoga on the Farm
Join Blackbird Yoga Studio for a class at Closter Farm and flow amongst the apple trees in the orchard! This vinyasa class will focus on connecting the body, breath and mind; combining movement with intentional breathing, building strength and flexibility. This class is approachable for all levels whether you are a brand-new beginner or an experienced practitioner. See you there!

Ikebana - Flower Arranging Class
Families, adults, and children over 12 are welcome but are limited to 15 attendants.
Explore the Art of Ikebana with a simple and minimal flower arrangement of three stems of flowers, three branches, and three leaves.
All the materials and tools are provided:
A vase, a kenzan (to support the flowers and branches), Japanese scissors, an apron, and a watering can.
What you can take back home: Flowers, branches, leaves used in the lesson, plus extra flowers. Other materials may be available for purchase.
Matcha tea and sweets will be provided after the class.
